Cassava Starch-Based Composite Reinforced with Coconut Mesocarpfibers: Analysis of Physicochemical Stability

چکیده

In one of our previous articles, we developed a cassava starch material reinforced with coconut mesocarpfibers. Its properties have been evaluated. It appears that the behavior composite depends on atmospheric conditions exposure. The purpose this work is to do more in-depth physicochemical stability analysis. To this, identical samples were exposed in different chemical environments: basic, saline, acidic and distilled water. mass losses are measured after 75 days immersion solutions three cases: films without addition lime fibers, film presence reinforcements, finally fibers. We observe that, all cases, loss decreases However, basic solution, decrease greater (53.4%) while it remains acceptable saline environment (1.1%). short, can be used for several applications field packaging such as preservation dry salty products.

Quantification of Starch Physicochemical Characteristics in a Cassava Segregating Population

Culinary cassava (Manihot esculenta L.) qualities that make a variety popular are a function of starch physicochemical properties. Hence, in response to inferior root qualities in some released cassava varieties in Uganda compared to the local germplasm, a study was undertaken to examine: (i) starch physicochemical characteristics in both introduced and local varieties; and (ii) the variation i...

Development of a bioactive glass fiber reinforced starch-polycaprolactone composite.

For bone regeneration and repair, combinations of different materials are often needed. Biodegradable polymers are often combined with osteoconductive materials, such as bioactive glass (BaG), which can also improve the mechanical properties of the composite. The aim of this work was to develop and characterize BaG fiber reinforced starch-poly-epsilon-caprolactone (SPCL) composite. Sheets of SP...

Production of Starch Based Bioplastic from Cassava Peel Reinforced with Microcrystalline Celllulose Avicel PH101 Using Sorbitol as Plasticizer

The production of starch based bioplastics from cassava peel reeinforced with microcrystalline cellulose using sorbitol as plasticizer were investigated. Physical properties of bioplastics were determined by density, water uptake, tensile strength and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. Bioplastics were prepared from cassava peel starch plasticized using sorbitol with variation of 20; 25; ...
